Long gone - more complaints about RMIT

Been busy with uni's project and such =(

Just want to rant about RMIT (again).

We had an exhibition night 2 days ago (collaborations of our course + multimedia) have no freaking idea why they have 2 different name of the course; we basically did the same thing what they did: animations, interactive and other stuff, I was kinda pissed how they only provided ONE computer for students that did interactive piece.
Guess how many people did Interactive piece?

8. EIGHT!!

I thought they'd use all the 3 computers to show our (Interactive people) work but NO, the 2 other computers were provided for the animations slash video people.

Fair enough?

No.

They had 2 huge projector screens on the wall and they showed the animation/ video pieces up there.

So.. why did they need to put it on the computer(s) as well?

Freaking pointless.

Yes yes there were only 8 people that did Interactive piece, but the course was meant to be "Animation AND Interactive media" wasn't it?
If they didn't want people to do interactive THAT much then they shoulda called the course Animation and other crap Media.

Gah I'm so pissed.

I guess I can only say it's prolly good cos they had it on ACMI.

I hate my job

Customer is not always right (I keep having that thought in my mind while I'm working, but it never works.)

I hate customers.
Really.
Especially the ones that don't speak english - NEVER replied of my greetings, NEVER said thank you, and they don't listen.
Everytime we say "Sorry we don't have a bag for this item" they NORMALLY nod (which logically means "yes it's okay") and then when we scan all items and they paid for it they will say," Urm, can I have a bag for this?"

.....

Listen with 2 ears GAH!!

Oh and,
What's so hard leaving the store once you hear the closing call announcement? We want to go home too, don't you know that?
Oh I know, you never been in this situation before, where you don't have a job and don't have to server annoying customers.

Bleh.

NOT ALWAYS RIGHT website
a funny website about customers.

Natural blonde celebs

I was wondering why celebs dye their hair blonde, I mean brunette is good and everytime I see this celeb on tv with blonde hairs I look at their eyebrows and they're not even blonde!
I never noticed this stuff before lol until I read an article about Blonde Asians (not naturally born blonde)
I was watching proactive ad and realized Jessica Simpson's hair isn't naturally blonde! Her eyebrow is freaking brunette!

Maybe it's just the thought how blondes do it better. Or something. I don't know o_o;;

Anyways, I was curious and googled it up lol.

.. and it was hard lol.

Dakota Fanning, Gwyneth Paltrow, Julia Roberts, Paris Hilton (unless she dyed her hair when she was a kid) are example of natural blonde celebs.

I know that Jessica Simpson, Britney Spears, Nicole Kidman (she's red head omg not blonde =.=), Scarlett Johanson (she's obviously a brunette, I saw her pic on this magazine with blonde hair but she's got a dark brownish eyebrow.. it looks hideous)

It's funny how some people change their hair color as they starting to grow up.
Michael Owen for example, he was so cute when he was a kid lol.

edit:

p.s: Sure there are asians that can pull off blonde hair (i've seen some irl) and seriously I love it, esp the ones that can actually can pull off platinum blonde.

I'm saying here if someone wanted to go blonde, they need to dye their eyebrows as well so it doesn't look that weird (see pic above).

RMIT sucks!

They increase freaking $400 for my course!! I don't know about other course but omfg $400!! I checked swinburne, they charge lower than RMIT! I remember when I decided not to go to swinburne because they were too expensive (stupid me I should've tried to apply there).
So people, If you decided to go to Uni in Melbourne, DONT GO TO RMIT, unless you have no other choice, but seriously RMIT sucks ass.
Well here it goes.
I'm doing a multimedia course, which means we have to use computer all the time.
In RMIT, they use old iMac (unless they change it recently - which I'd found out on the 3rd of March), yes they do have powerPC BUT they use freaking Dell monitor!!!! Dell!! DDDDDDDDDDEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My bf went to VU, and they use PowerPC AND MAC monitors! Like brand new! And they have like 20 of them on every lab.

RMIT? Pffft, we only have like 4 or 5 labs and sometimes we can't even use the lab because some of the teachers/ lecturers are dumbasses. It makes sense if the class was full, but if there were only few students there and the teacher wouldnt allow us to use the computer then it doesn't make any sense!

Talking about teachers,
some of the teachers are good, I like them, but there are some that can be pain in the ass. But so far it's all cool, except for some teachers such as W***Y BITCH*R (yes its real) and D*V*D C***LL
=)

Ok, ok, what about the student service?
C-R-A-P, CRAP!!
The people that works at The Hub are shitholes, unless they're new or still in training.
They're pain in the ass seriously. If you needed any help, DONT GO THERE cos they normally just yell, being mean, and basically shits you.
I've been through to all of those stuff. I just wanna graduate ASAP, RMIT shits me.

They always do this survey thing every year and asking students what's happening on the course and crap, and most all of my classmates said that theres no use doing that cos THEY NEVER LISTENED.
We pay freaking a lot of money and what do we got? Anything but Dell monitor!!! >.>

OH the good thing about RMIT is, they change our interactive media lecture!! lol.
Thats the only thing I like atm about RMIT.
No one likes him, and teachers been saying theres no way RMIT will replace him, cos apparently we didn't have any "qualified" teacher to teach advanced html/flash action script.
On November 2007 they sent us e-mail saying that someone will replace him this year, and i was like YAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYY!

Anyway, nuff of the rant lol at least now I can tell people about the other side of RMIT.

edit:
To those who commented on this post.

I honestly can't say anything whether RMIT is a good university or not.
I know I may sound a little biased up there but I was telling the truth.
RMIT doesn't care about our course (Creative Media) since it's a pretty new course.
They have 2 different (yet freaking the same) course that do animations: My course (Animation & Interactive media) and Multimedia.
We even had the same exhibition night. I have no freaking idea why they have 2 different course for this - we did the same thing: MULTIMEDIA.
I'm saying here: RMIT is really poor when it comes to our course. They don't treat us right.
We did survey and everything (RMIT was the one that did it) since we were in first year, but we have not seen the result.

I can only suggest you: If you're after interactive media course, CONSIDER TWICE.
I did interactive piece for my final project and in my course Interactive stuff always come second. They prefer animations and videos people.
Yes I'm being biased again.
So if you're into ActionScript and such, do consider other university, they may offer better stuff over there.

I also suggest you to go to the Open Day on those Universities.
Ask for the examples of their works.
